Dark Light

Do you get angry at times? We all have a time when we are upset or annoyed with somthing or someone – no matter what age we are, we often struggle with our emotions. Sometimes the tiger comes out in us.

We want you to share your strategies on how you handle your emotions. Share them with other children, you never know your advice may just help them to feel better.

There are lots of books with stories about how to deal with emotions. Ravi’s Roar by Tom Percival, our Book of the month, is one such book.

If you know of any other books or even films on how to deal with your emotions in a healthy way please share them with us in the comments section below..

The Bible also gives us some great tips and ideas to use when trying to control our emotions. Two such examples are

1 Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Proverbs 16:32  – Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

So, over to you! We want you to write a story or a play script about controlling anger or you can write your top ten ways to control your anger. You can read any of the books mentioned or Bible texts and use them as your inspiration for your writing – Control your Anger.

You can be as creative as you can and write in any style you like! Be sure you reference your work with the book or Bible text that inspired you. We can’t wait to hear all of your stories, playscript, tips, and advice.

We will be sure to award prizes and share our favourites online and your work could also be published in a special book!

Your entry must reach us by the Closing Date: Wednesday 1st July 2020
